It’s officially summer! Bring on sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and plenty of summer camps to keep the kids out of trouble until they’re safely stowed in the classroom once again. This time around, we’d like to introduce you to a language immersion camp great for children up to age 12, and a teen camp at the International Potato Center (known as its Spanish acronym CIP) – bet you didn’t know we had one of those!
Science Camp for Teens 2021
Love potatoes? So do the folks over at the International Potato Center! Your teen can learn about how crucial potato R&D is for food security, analyze molecular biology, and conduct their own research experiments at CIP–China Center for Asia-Pacific (CCCAP) Science Camp 2021. They can also get involved in the United Nations (UN) sustainable food education initiative to learn about the relationship between food sustainability goals and rural development. The entire program is conducted in English, and led by Cornell instructor and CCCAP Country Liaison Scientist Dr. Philip Kear.

Summary: The program aims to provide high school students with knowledge about biology through a high-quality, practical science platform that cultivates students’ critical scientific thinking and curious spirit.

Mandarin/French Language Summer Camp
If your kid is picking up a third language such as Mandarin or French in school, you might want to stick them in this immersive language summer camp to ensure they don’t lose everything they’ve learned over the summer break. TailorMade Language Training is running a cultural summer camp to give your kids a fun space to practice their language skills while engaging in interactive games. Do note that lunches are not provided.
